Senior Driver

About the role

The Senior Driver will provide safe, reliable transportation for UNOPS staff, consultants and experts in Mozambique. In addition to driving duties, the role includes clerical support and messenger tasks to ensure smooth office operations.

Key responsibilities

• Transport authorized personnel, cargo and, when required, hazardous goods to and from project sites, airports and offices.
• Assist with airport formalities, including customs and immigration procedures.
• Deliver and collect mail, documents and packages for UN agencies, embassies, NGOs and courier services.
• Maintain accurate vehicle logs, perform routine checks, minor repairs and coordinate major maintenance.
• Keep vehicles clean, road‑worthy and equipped with required documents, first‑aid kits and spare parts.
• Support office administration by binding documents, maintaining registers and handling routine clerical tasks.
• Assist in organizing meetings, workshops and field missions by providing logistical support.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s licence with a clean record and extensive experience in professional driving.
• Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance and minor repairs.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail for clerical and messenger duties.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently in a multicultural environment.
