Senior QAQC Material Specialist

About the role

The Senior QAQC Material Specialist ensures that all project materials meet approved specifications, codes and standards throughout the project lifecycle. This role leads material quality activities, coordinates inspections and maintains comprehensive documentation for Oil & Gas/EPC projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead QAQC activities for material procurement, inspection, certification and compliance.
• Review and approve material specifications, datasheets, MRPs and purchase orders.
• Verify that materials comply with client requirements and standards such as ASTM, ASME, API and ISO.
• Review Mill Test Certificates, ensure material traceability and manage compliance documentation.
• Coordinate third‑party inspections, FATs, vendor surveillance and audits.
• Monitor receiving inspections, storage, preservation and handling on site.
• Manage material NCRs, deviations and corrective/preventive actions.
• Interface with engineering, procurement, construction, vendors and clients on material quality matters.
• Maintain QAQC records, material dossiers and final documentation.
• Mentor QAQC material specialists and inspectors and support quality audits and project close‑out.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 10‑15+ years of QAQC material experience in Oil & Gas/EPC projects.
• Strong exposure to material inspection, certification and vendor quality management.
• Experience with offshore, onshore or fabrication yard projects is preferred.
• Quality certifications such as CSWIP, NDT or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor are an advantage.

• Mill Test Certificate (MTC) verification.
• Material traceability and compliance documentation.
• Third‑party inspection coordination and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
• Vendor surveillance and audit management.
• Non‑Conformance Report (NCR) handling and corrective action planning.
• QA/QC record keeping and dossier management.
• CSWIP, NDT and ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certifications (preferred).
