Team Leader - Sanitation Service Expert

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Team Leader to guide large‑scale urban sanitation projects. The role involves overseeing technical assistance, managing multi‑stakeholder programmes, and ensuring the delivery of high‑quality sanitation services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate teams on complex urban water and sanitation projects.
• Provide technical assistance and programme management for multi‑donor, multi‑stakeholder initiatives.
• Oversee the rehabilitation or construction of major urban sanitation systems with budgets exceeding €10 million.
• Mentor client staff and deliver on‑the‑job training.
• Maintain communication with international financing institutions, especially IFIs such as AFD.

Required profile

• University or engineering degree equivalent to MSc/ME.
• Minimum 15 years of professional experience, including at least 10 years in a team‑leadership role.
• At least 10 years of experience in urban sanitation projects.
• Proven track record managing technical assistance contracts of €1 million +.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English; French is a plus.
