Utility Operator – Casting Operations

About the role

The Utility Operator supports operators, senior operators and technicians in the casting operations, ensuring safe and efficient production of high‑quality aluminium products for EGA’s customers.

Key responsibilities

• Follow all EHS procedures, complete OH&S trainings and adhere to the 3 R policy.
• Assist with daily production plans, prepare and arrange spares, tools, and casting launder components.
• Operate overhead pendant crane for hot metal crucible handling and direct pouring.
• Perform forklift tasks for moving dross bins, scrap hoppers and other materials.
• Execute scrap segregation, alloying element arrangement, and furnace preparation using the SSM system.
• Support degasser unit preparation, casting start/end, and post‑casting clean‑up.
• Assist in saw‑section operations, including crucible pouring, skimming and stripping.

Required profile

• Completion of all listed training modules before shift assignment.
• Ability to work safely, identify hazards and follow EGA Life‑Saving Rules.
• Team‑oriented attitude and capability to follow work instructions from supervisors.
