Security Coordinator

About the role

The Security Coordinator will oversee the safety and security of project operations in the Layer 3 area of Cabo Delgado Province, Mozambique. Reporting to the security department, the role ensures that protection forces, contractors, and socioeconomic activities are properly supported and that threat levels are continuously assessed.

Key responsibilities

• Mentor Protection Force personnel to fully implement VPSHR guidelines while maintaining high operational standards.
• Organise logistical movements and convoy escorts for contractors across Layer 3 areas.
• Provide security support and up‑to‑date awareness for all project‑related socioeconomic activities.
• Report security situations and threat escalations as needed.
• Ensure security SOPs and regulations are applied to all contractor staff.
• Assess road security conditions in coordination with the security department in A Afungi.
• Collaborate daily with local authorities, state security, private security forces, and the local population.
• Continuously evaluate the security threat level in the operational area.

Required profile

• Fluent in English, Portuguese and Swahili (spoken); basic knowledge of local languages.
• No criminal record.
• Basic high school diploma.
• Military or police background, minimum Senior NCO rank.
• Experience working with military and police personnel.
• Valid driver’s license and passport.
