WASH/IPC Technical Advisor

About the role

The WASH/IPC Technical Advisor provides strategic and operational leadership for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) activities across the MCGL and RISE OVC project, ensuring coordination among partners, government agencies and donors, and supporting health system resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead coordination of WASH implementation across multiple partners, monitor work plans, and resolve bottlenecks.
• Serve as primary liaison with the Ministry of Health, provincial and district health authorities, and other government bodies.
• Facilitate regular coordination meetings, document decisions, and ensure follow‑up on action items.
• Oversee development, adaptation and validation of SOPs, guidelines, monitoring tools, checklists, training curricula and SBC materials.
• Monitor performance indicators for WASH, IPC and Human Milk Bank activities, and drive evidence‑based decision‑making.
• Support capacity building through Training of Trainers, mentorship, coaching and supportive supervision.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, WASH, Health Systems Management or related field (Bachelor’s plus extensive experience may be considered).
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience managing or coordinating WASH/public health programs, including at least 5 years in donor‑funded international projects.
• Proven experience coordinating multiple implementing partners and government institutions in complex, multi‑stakeholder environments.
• Experience with USG, CDC, World Bank, UNICEF or similar donor‑funded health/WASH programmes.
