Communications Associate

About the role

The Communications Associate will support UNOPS Mozambique in raising the organization’s visibility and reputation through compelling content and strategic communication initiatives. Working closely with project teams, partners and donors, the associate will create, edit and disseminate a variety of communication materials that showcase UNOPS’ impact on sustainable development and peacebuilding.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop opportunities to increase UNOPS visibility at national, regional and global levels.
• Draft, edit and proof‑read web stories, newsletters, press releases, reports and social‑media posts in line with corporate style.
• Support the production of multimedia assets such as infographics, videos and photos, ensuring consistent messaging.
• Coordinate communication inputs for events, workshops and campaigns.
• Assist with media relations, crisis communication and outreach material preparation.
• Provide administrative support for communication procurements, including drafting Terms of Reference and managing requisitions.

Required profile

• Strong written and editorial skills in English.
• Experience creating content for web, print and social media platforms.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet donor visibility requirements.
