Packaging Team Leader

About the role

The Packaging Team Leader will oversee a shift‑based production team, ensuring the execution of the production plan while meeting safety, quality, and cost targets. This role is central to maintaining a safe work environment and driving continuous improvement in a fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) setting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the shift team in line with VPO tools and principles to achieve production targets within budget.
• Coordinate scheduled maintenance and autonomous operations to minimise downtime.
• Monitor production processes, interpret the production plan, and adjust activities to stay on schedule.
• Maintain safety, health, and environmental standards and ensure housekeeping compliance.
• Build and sustain relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Administer employment conditions, manage team development, and prepare/control budgets.

Required profile

• Ability to work rotating shifts and make decisive decisions.
• Strong leadership and teamwork orientation.
• Attention to detail, computer literacy, and a bias for action.
• Excellent communication and analytical problem‑solving skills.
• Resilience to operate effectively under high‑pressure conditions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with VPO (Value, Process, Operations) tools.
