Packaging Machine Specialist

About the role

The Packaging Machine Specialist is responsible for maintaining, repairing and optimising packaging equipment to ensure high plant availability and product quality while minimising cost. The role combines hands‑on technical work with coaching, knowledge transfer and continuous improvement activities across shift‑based teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist coaching, mentoring and knowledge transfer on machine operation to shift teams, including standby and day‑shift support.
• Act as a functional expert in problem‑solving for the plant and support specific zones when requested.
• Participate in regional and central plant optimisation trials.
• Support process artisans with machine operation, fault finding and corrective actions.
• Upskill artisans on the latest Standard Work Instructions (SWI) for setups and restorations.
• Contribute to maintenance planning meetings, ensuring backlog meets required hours and schedules.
• Execute work during planned maintenance windows and assist teammates in task execution.
• Conduct post‑mortem reviews to capture learnings and improvement opportunities.
• Perform ATO cleaning, lubrication and inspection according to the maintenance schedule.
• Carry out condition monitoring activities and apply appropriate problem‑solving techniques.
• Maintain a safe working environment and report unsafe practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience in industrial machine maintenance and optimisation.
• Ability to coach and mentor shift‑based teams.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
