Advocacy Manager – Humanitarian Diplomacy (Mozambique, Pemba)

About the role

The Advocacy Manager will lead NRC’s advocacy and communications efforts in Mozambique, focusing on humanitarian diplomacy to promote principled humanitarian action. This role involves shaping strategy, managing a team, and representing NRC with key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and coordinate NRC’s advocacy response to prioritized issues nationally and internationally.
• Develop and implement an advocacy and communications strategy aligned with the country strategy.
• Provide line management for the advocacy and media team, including staff development, budget planning and administration.
• Ensure systematic training on advocacy and communication for relevant staff.
• Produce high‑quality analysis and evidence‑based policy briefing papers, position statements, and other public‑facing advocacy products.
• Represent NRC to key stakeholders and in major fora, strengthening advocacy networks and strategic partnerships.
• Liaise with NRC Country, Regional and Global offices to coordinate advocacy messaging.
• Lead or contribute to in‑country advocacy coordination groups such as Advocacy Working Groups.
• Develop a strategy and action plan for humanitarian diplomacy in Mozambique.
• Prepare briefings, reports, press statements, letters and communications materials, including visual, digital and social media content.
