Compliance Manager – Mozambique

About the role

The Compliance Manager will lead the development, implementation and oversight of the organisation's compliance framework in Mozambique. This role ensures that all legal, regulatory and governance requirements are met while supporting the business in achieving its strategic objectives ethically and responsibly.

Key responsibilities

• Identify statutory and management requirements and ensure they are embedded in business processes.
• Develop and maintain a risk matrix linking rules to processes and assess compliance accordingly.
• Design, implement and monitor a comprehensive compliance program, including policies, procedures and governance documents.
• Maintain the compliance manual and keep it up‑to‑date.
• Provide ad‑hoc regulatory and operational risk advice to senior management.
• Coordinate with internal audit, legal, HR and other functions to ensure cohesive compliance activities.
• Lead disciplinary actions when necessary and represent the organisation with regulators.
• Develop training content and deliver compliance training as required.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Legal or Business (recognised by the ISSM).
• Registered Compliance Officer with the ISSM.
• 8–10 years of compliance experience and 3–5 years in a managerial role.
• Strong understanding of regulatory environments and risk‑based compliance approaches.
