Data & Analytics Officer

About the role

The ICRC Delegation in Maputo is looking for a Data & Analytics Officer to support the management of information collected internally and externally, so that the ICRC's protection activities can run smoothly. The officer also implements current data protection procedures and helps manage the Protection file, contributing actively to the daily organisation of the protection office.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure data entry complies with the data entry procedures and enter data on Protection cases and their follow-up collected in the Mozambique delegation.
• Monitor the Protection team's use of new protection tools and help identify and train new users.
• Support the Restoring Family Links (RFL) team in training the National Society on data protection, collection, quality and individual follow-up.
• Apply best practices, standards and templates for data management and analytics, and promote data quality checks and data security.
• Keep data management documentation updated and improve data quality monitoring tools such as dashboards.
• Help prepare institutional reports and dashboards, check the quality of collected data and provide quick learning sessions on request.
• Extract and prepare data for Operations as requested by the Co-Protector, and support the Data Manager with bi-annual consolidated statistics and data analysis and case reviews.
• Perform office work such as filing, mailing, photocopying and updating lists, and archive documents according to standard procedures.
• Support the circulation of information on tracing activities and the reporting of internal and external reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in information management, data analysis, business administration, statistics or a relevant field.
• At least 2 years of experience in data management, archiving, information management or database management.
• Training in database management, international humanitarian law or SQL is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of organisational skills, accountability, professional integrity and a results-oriented approach.
• Proficiency in two languages; English and Portuguese are mandatory.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, CRM).
• Ability to work in a diverse, multi-cultural team and to handle several priorities at once.
