Deputy Project Manager (M/F)

About the role

The Deputy Project Manager will support the Project Manager in delivering strategic environmental and marine projects for a prestigious international engineering consultancy.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordinating and daily delivery of project activities, including mobilisation and demobilisation of personnel, plant, equipment and subcontractors.
• Maintain project schedules, milestones, resource plans and progress trackers using Microsoft Project.
• Monitor activities against the plan, flag potential delays and propose practical solutions.
• Coordinate project meetings, prepare agendas, record minutes and follow up on actions.
• Prepare and consolidate daily progress reports, KPI updates, field reports and final project documentation.
• Support HSE compliance, risk assessments and operational documentation.
• Liaise with vessel crews, port captains, subcontractors and client representatives.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Project Management, Engineering, Marine or Environmental studies.
• Experience in offshore, maritime, oil & gas, construction or remote‑site operations.
• Strong written and spoken English; Portuguese is required.
• High emotional intelligence and ability to handle difficult conversations.
• Mozambican nationality and familiarity with the Afungi/LNG environment is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 suite.
• Knowledge of Primavera P6 (advantage).
