Distribution Supervisor

About the role

The Distribution Supervisor is responsible for driving a consistent service level by overseeing the end‑to‑end delivery process. This role ensures superior point‑of‑contact execution, manages customer queries, and implements strategies that grow profitability through optimal delivery modes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily plan execution and manage customer delivery queries or complaints.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis of issues to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure drivers adhere to off‑loading standards, safety guidelines, and maintain a professional image.
• Develop, document, and communicate standard operating procedures for delivery staff.
• Implement morning briefings and monitor driver working hours to meet regulatory requirements.
• Maintain continuous communication with Centralised Planning to align master data with customer needs.
• Supervise in‑trade deliveries according to market plans and measurable outcomes.
• Utilise management tools such as SICs, OWDs, 5 Whys, and AB reports to address recurring delivery issues.
• Coach drivers on performance metrics, refusals, and out‑of‑date deliveries.
• Verify master data accuracy and conduct owner‑driver standard checks.
• Maintain a minimum of four market visits per week to ensure SOP compliance.
• Oversee quality management, track consumer complaints, and implement action plans.
• Establish daily capacity occupation SLAs and optimise refusals.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead plan execution and manage delivery operations.
• Strong analytical skills for root‑cause analysis and data verification.
• Experience ensuring driver compliance with safety, image, and regulatory standards.
• Effective communication with central planning and customer teams.
• Capability to develop and enforce SOPs and conduct regular market visits.
• Familiarity with management tools (SICs, OWDs, 5 Whys, AB reports).
• Coaching experience for driver performance improvement.
• Commitment to quality management and handling consumer complaints.
