Emergency Project Manager – Pemba, Mozambique

About the role

The Emergency Project Manager will lead the Rapid Response Mechanism (RRM) for NRC’s consortium in Mozambique, overseeing emergency and cash‑based projects in Pemba and Mueda.

Key responsibilities

• Manage RRM teams, including line‑management, performance, recruitment and duty of care.
• Develop and implement digital voucher response and pool‑fund mechanisms.
• Coordinate emergency project implementation, budgets, documentation and donor reporting.
• Provide technical direction, ensure high quality, and produce regular progress reports.
• Build capacity of project staff and liaise with local authorities and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 senior years in humanitarian programming or senior project management.
• Experience with emergency cycles, cash‑based programming and market analysis.
• Fluency in English; Portuguese knowledge is an asset.
• Strong leadership, flexible workload management and cross‑cultural collaboration.
