Finance Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Finance Manager to lead the finance function of Construa Lda, Mozambique’s leading building‑materials merchant. Based in Maputo, you will be responsible for day‑to‑day financial operations and will support strategic decision‑making across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee general accounting, accounts payable and receivable, cash management and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and monitor financial performance against targets.
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and financial reporting standards.
• Liaise with external auditors, banks and other financial institutions.
• Implement internal controls to safeguard assets.
• Partner with operational and commercial teams to analyse profitability, optimise costs and provide financial insights for strategic decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field; professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA) is a plus.
• Relevant experience in finance or accounting, preferably in retail, distribution, construction materials or a similar industry.
• Proven ability to lead or coordinate a small finance team and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Fluency in English; Portuguese proficiency highly beneficial.
