Front Office Manager

About the role

The Front Office Manager will lead the front desk team at Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and smooth daily operations in a luxury hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the hotel’s strategic and marketing plans and develop the Front Office budget.
• Design, deliver and monitor training programmes for all Front Office staff, covering IT systems and guest‑service procedures.
• Maintain full knowledge of the Property Management System and Call Centre platforms.
• Supervise departmental staff, facilities, sales and costs to maximise profit and guest satisfaction.
• Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and create new SOPs as needed.
• Drive sales and promotional programmes, including upselling initiatives.
• Monitor daily arrivals, manage VIP and special requests, and coordinate with housekeeping, room service and guest relations.
• Foster a motivational work environment through coaching, counseling and regular performance feedback.
• Conduct room and floor inspections, raise engineering or housekeeping work orders and follow up on results.
• Maintain effective employee relations and collaborate with HR on recruitment, orientation and other personnel matters.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing front office operations in a luxury hotel or resort.
• Strong leadership and coaching abilities to develop and motivate staff.
• Ability to plan budgets, training programmes and implement SOPs.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with internal departments and handling VIP guests.
