Health & Nutrition Coordinator (Mozambique)

About the role

The Health & Nutrition Coordinator will lead the design, implementation and monitoring of nutrition and health interventions for Action contre la Faim in Mozambique. Reporting to the Country Director, the role ensures that programmes meet international standards, national policies and the organization’s localization agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of the country and Nutrition & Health strategies.
• Identify needs, formulate project proposals and coordinate their technical implementation.
• Design, develop, evaluate and monitor nutrition and health actions, including community‑based prevention and maternal‑child health.
• Collaborate with governmental bodies, local agencies and other humanitarian actors to launch programmes.
• Provide technical supervision to Nutrition and Health Program Managers and represent ACF at the local level.

Required profile

• Medical background with a specialization in nutrition, public health or general medicine.
• Minimum 5 years experience in humanitarian emergencies, including at least 3 years in a coordination role.
• Proven experience in managing malnutrition, supporting health services and implementing emergency responses.
• Experience working with local authorities; outbreak‑response exposure is an asset.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written); Portuguese proficiency preferred.

Required skills

• Knowledge of nutrition survey methodologies such as SMART, NCA and SQUEAC.
