Inspector AIA – In‑service Pressure Equipment

About the role

Sasol is seeking an experienced Inspector AIA to lead in‑service inspections of pressure vessels, steam generators, pressure accessories, storage tanks and piping at its Temane operations in Mozambique. The role ensures legal compliance with South African Pressure Equipment Regulations, SANAS accreditation and Risk Based Inspection (RBI) standards, supporting safe and continuous plant operation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform in‑service inspections on all pressure equipment according to PER and internal procedures.
• Document findings, issue repair recommendations and compile technical reports for regulatory compliance.
• Support phase and total shutdowns by aligning inspection frequencies with RBI‑approved periods.
• Maintain and follow up on legal documentation and compliance records.
• Witness pressure tests and verify equipment condition after repairs or modifications.

Required profile

• Certified In‑service Inspector and SANAS technical signatory.
• Strong knowledge of PER, SANS 10227, SANS 17020 and related health‑and‑safety standards.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, radiographs and inspection data.
• Proven experience in industrial inspection environments, preferably within chemicals or energy sectors.
