Joint Venture Finance Lead

About the role

The Joint Venture Finance Lead will support the Finance Director and Financial Controller in steering the finance sub‑committee for the Area 1 joint venture and its MozLNG entities. This senior position operates in a complex, multi‑entity environment with high‑level reporting to government, lenders, partners and auditors.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and lead finance sub‑committee meetings, set agendas and drive decision‑making with internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare and present detailed financial analyses and recommendations for the Finance Committee.
• Oversee accounting operations for the joint venture, ensuring compliance with international accounting standards.
• Coordinate the preparation of financial statements and reports for the unincorporated joint venture and its entities.
• Analyse cash‑call data, support funding decisions and manage financial risks.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audit cycles.
• Supervise and train accounting staff, fostering efficient processes.
• Maintain regulatory compliance, internal controls and risk management under the Petroleum Regulator.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Economics, Accounting, Audit or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in oil & gas joint‑venture finance.
• Strong understanding of oil & gas business processes and contractual structures.
• Excellent communication, organisational and autonomous working abilities.
• Fluent in English (and Portuguese if applicable).
