Migration Health Consultant

About the role

The Migration Health Consultant will support the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in delivering its migration health portfolio across Northern Mozambique. Based in Pemba, the role involves coordinating health interventions such as HIV/TB, cholera response, emergency health, and nutrition activities with district health authorities and humanitarian partners.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in organizing and implementing IOM’s migration health programmes (HIV/TB, cholera response, emergency health, nutrition) in Northern Mozambique.
• Coordinate and liaise with district health authorities, humanitarian and development partners, attend local meetings, document outcomes and follow‑up on actions.
• Ensure continuity of care for patients identified during displacement cycles, linking them to appropriate services at each step.
• Work with integrated health‑MHPSS‑protection field teams to deliver health education, community engagement, case finding, screening and referrals.
• Organize mobile health brigades in partnership with district health authorities to provide primary health care to displaced populations and host communities.
• Supervise team leaders of integrated field teams, monitor community‑based activities, and prepare regular reports on service delivery.
• Collaborate closely with MHPSS, Protection and CCCM teams to ensure integrated service delivery and cross‑referrals.

Required profile

• Experience in migration health programmes, including HIV/TB, cholera response, emergency health or nutrition.
• Proven ability to coordinate with health authorities and humanitarian partners.
• Experience working within integrated health‑MHPSS‑protection teams.
• Strong supervision, monitoring and reporting skills.
