NDT Technician – Offshore AUT Inspector

About the role

The Offshore AUT Inspector will join a deep‑water reel‑lay vessel crew to supervise and verify non‑destructive testing (NDT) activities during the installation of a 22‑inch subsea gas pipeline off northern Mozambique. Reporting to the Offshore Pipeline QC Lead, the role ensures high‑quality execution of welding and pipe‑lay operations in a high‑stress, multicultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review and witness all PAUT and TOFD scanner activities on the vessel.
• Supervise welding inspections, coordinate with the Welding Inspector, and verify compliance with the Inspection Test Plan (ITP).
• Validate final release inspections for pipeline and test packages, including mechanical completion (ITR).
• Witness hydro‑test or pneumatic test procedures as required.
• Review reports and final dossier documentation before contractor submission.
• Raise, monitor, and support the closure of NCRs, ensuring corrective and preventive actions.
• Assist in punch‑list identification and contribute to lessons‑learned and close‑out reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of oil & gas experience with offshore technical, quality and HSE oversight.
• At least 10 years of offshore pipelay installation experience.
• Certified CSWIP Level 2 AUT interpreter (or equivalent); ISO 9712 certification is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a high‑stress, fast‑paced, multicultural team.
