Offshore Welding Inspector – Rotational (28 days on / 28 days off)

About the role

The Offshore Welding Inspector will be based on the contractor reel‑lay vessel operating out of Afungi, Cabo Delgado, supporting a major subsea‑to‑shore gas field development. This rotational position (28 days on, 28 days off) reports directly to the Offshore Pipeline QC Lead and ensures welding activities meet the highest quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform all QC and welding inspection tasks during offshore pipeline installation, following the Inspection and Test Plans (ITP).
• Review final release inspections, mechanical completion reports and test packages, including hydrostatic or pneumatic tests.
• Raise, monitor and support the closure of non‑conformance reports (NCRs) and assist the Quality Lead with corrective actions.
• Witness and document hydrostatic/pneumatic testing and verify test results.
• Support punch‑list identification, follow‑up and contribute to lessons‑learned and close‑out reports.

Required profile

• Certified CSWIP minimum 3.1 (TWI); additional Level II NDT certifications (SNT‑TC‑1A or ISO 9712) are a plus.
• Minimum 15 years of oil & gas experience, including at least 10 years in offshore pipelay installation and quality oversight.
• Proven ability to work in high‑stress, fast‑paced, multicultural environments.
• Strong understanding of offshore safety requirements and project standards.
