Programme Officer – Livelihood and Economic Empowerment

About the role

The Programme Officer – Livelihood and Economic Empowerment supports the Programme Manager in designing, implementing and monitoring interventions that improve child wellbeing, strengthen household resilience and promote sustainable community livelihoods. The role works across assigned locations, coordinating livelihood, food‑security, economic empowerment and environmental restoration activities while ensuring compliance with safeguarding and donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in needs assessments and community reviews to identify priority livelihood and environmental interventions.
• Develop and implement annual work plans, detailed implementation schedules and budgets aligned with World Vision strategy and donor standards.
• Coordinate day‑to‑day delivery of approved project models such as THRIVE, BSL, S4T, iM4C, FMNR/Restoration and CVA.
• Collaborate with technical leads, partners, volunteers and community structures to build capacity, avoid duplication and ensure quality outcomes.
• Facilitate programme reviews, reflection sessions and planning meetings with district stakeholders and partners.
• Integrate safeguarding, child protection, GEDSI, peacebuilding and environmental sustainability into all activities.
• Report safeguarding incidents promptly and support partners in understanding reporting protocols.
• Ensure registered children and vulnerable families are included in project activities and documented in sponsorship systems.

Required profile

• Experience coordinating livelihood, economic empowerment, food‑security or environmental restoration projects.
• Ability to work with diverse partners, volunteers and community groups.
• Strong organizational skills for planning, budgeting and monitoring.

Required skills

• Knowledge of THRIVE, BSL, S4T, iM4C, FMNR/Restoration and CVA intervention models.
