Provincial Coordinator for ECHO Project in Mozambique

About the role

The Provincial Coordinator will lead the ECHO (Efficiencies for Clinical HIV Outcomes) project at the provincial level in Mozambique, providing strategic, technical, and operational leadership to strengthen the national HIV response. Reporting to the Deputy Chief of Party for Health Systems Strengthening, the role works closely with the Ministry of Health, provincial and district authorities, and local partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the provincial team in delivering integrated technical assistance across health facilities and communities.
• Promote data‑informed decision‑making and strengthen routine data use for program improvement.
• Oversee design and implementation of quality improvement strategies.
• Support multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient‑centered service delivery.
• Ensure alignment of interventions with national policies and priorities.
• Develop and implement capacity‑building strategies for government counterparts and health‑facility teams.
• Strengthen planning, supervision, data use, and performance‑management systems.
• Mentor and coach teams to improve performance and sustainability.

Required profile

• Proven experience in health systems strengthening, preferably in HIV/AIDS programs.
• Strong knowledge of Mozambique’s health sector and government structures.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑stakeholder collaborations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to adapt program management approaches based on performance data.
