Purchasing Manager

About the role

The Purchasing Manager will lead all procurement activities for Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort, ensuring that goods and services are sourced cost‑effectively, on time, and to the highest quality standards. This role supports the resort’s operational excellence and contributes to a memorable guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, direct and oversee procurement of all goods, services and equipment required for resort operations.
• Develop and implement purchasing policies, procedures and best practices.
• Identify, evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, price, reliability and service.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing and terms to achieve best value.
• Monitor market trends and pricing to identify cost‑saving opportunities and ensure purchases stay within approved budgets.
• Maintain optimal stock levels, coordinate inventory counts and prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls and applicable regulations.
• Lead, coach and evaluate the Purchasing and Stores team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance or a related field.
• Proven experience in procurement or purchasing within a hospitality or resort environment.
• Strong negotiation, supplier management and budgeting skills.
• Ability to lead a team and foster a culture of accountability.
