Safety Culture Coach – Mozambique LNG Project

About the role

The Safety Culture Coach will lead the development and implementation of safety culture and leadership programmes for the Mozambique LNG project, a $20 billion, 5‑year construction effort. The role focuses on influencing behaviours, reinforcing safe work practices and ensuring a positive safety environment across all workforce levels.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain plans to achieve a positive safety culture.
• Provide structured coaching to managers, supervisors and workers.
• Support hazard identification, risk assessments and implementation of control measures.
• Deliver toolbox talks, safety inductions and refresher training sessions.
• Implement and monitor safety tools such as Golden Rules, Stop Card and permit audits.
• Conduct site inspections, monitor high‑risk activities and intervene to prevent incidents.
• Document observations, prepare reports and feed back to management.
• Participate in investigations and REX processes as the human‑factors expert.
• Analyse safety performance data and maintain behavioural KPIs.
• Develop and lead safety‑culture workshops tailored to organisational levels.
• Monitor contractor safety performance and the effectiveness of safety leadership.

Required profile

• Proven experience in safety culture development or HSE coaching within large‑scale industrial projects.
• Strong ability to influence behaviours and attitudes at all organisational levels.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills for training and workshops.
• Analytical mindset for data‑driven safety performance improvement.
