Senior Manager, Programs – MobileAid

About the role

GiveDirectly Mozambique is seeking a Senior Manager, Programs to lead its MobileAid initiative. You will own the end‑to‑end delivery of cash‑transfer projects, ensuring speed, scale, and quality while collaborating with government, mobile operators, and internal tech teams.

Key responsibilities

• Drive end‑to‑end delivery of GiveDirectly projects in Mozambique, meeting targets for quality, speed, cost‑effectiveness, and recipient experience.
• Own workplans, delivery timelines, risk registers, and coordination structures; anticipate bottlenecks and resolve them quickly.
• Use program data to monitor key metrics, analyse trends, and adjust design and delivery as needed.
• Strengthen operational systems to improve recipient experience, safeguarding, fraud prevention, and case resolution.
• Lead design and rollout of MobileAid’s mobile‑based targeting and remote enrollment, especially for shock/emergency and urban contexts.
• Translate program needs into implementable approaches and partner with Tech, Emergency Cash, and Programs teams to iterate tools and processes.
• Pilot and iterate novel remote targeting, enrollment, and risk‑detection capabilities.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large‑scale development or humanitarian programs, preferably with cash‑transfer components.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with governments, mobile network operators, and service providers.
• Ability to coordinate cross‑functional teams (Tech, Emergency Cash, Programs) and drive results in fast‑moving environments.
• Data‑driven decision‑making mindset with experience using program metrics to guide improvements.
