Senior Program Officer – WASH (EpiC Project)

About the role

FHI 360 is seeking a Senior Program Officer to join the EpiC Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) team in Maputo, Mozambique. The role provides day‑to‑day coordination, tracking and quality‑assurance support to ensure technical assistance activities are delivered on time, meet donor standards and comply with organizational policies.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Senior Technical Advisor – WASH in managing the workplan, deliverables and reporting.
• Coordinate consultants, technical staff and sub‑partners, and align their activities with finance, operations and M&E functions.
• Design and manage in‑country sub‑awards, including selection, budgeting and M&E framework alignment.
• Monitor sub‑award performance, document progress and synthesize data for senior management reports.
• Maintain organized physical and electronic filing of all project documents, agreements and deliverables.
• Provide operational support for EpiC GHS activities and represent the project in stakeholder platforms as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Economics, Business or related field; project‑management certification preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of project‑management experience in USG‑funded health or development projects.
• Proven experience designing and managing sub‑awards for donor‑funded initiatives.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese, with strong written and oral communication skills.

• Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, and virtual collaboration tools (Zoom, Teams, Skype).

What we offer

• Annual basic salary range USD 47,500 – 55,000.
• Travel allowance up to 20 % of time for field activities.
