Senior Security Specialist

About the role

The Senior Security Specialist will enhance McDermott's security discipline by applying best practices and deep domain knowledge. This role supports the Security Manager, mentors less‑experienced colleagues, and ensures that security operations align with company policies and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Security Manager with site security needs and supervise security guard and specialist personnel.
• Collaborate with guard supervisors to develop and execute effective security plans.
• Maintain relationships with line supervision, identify process deficiencies, and recommend improvements.
• Review weekly guard schedules, ensure coverage, and report daily activities, incidents, and complaints.
• Liaise with employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors while enforcing SOPs and project‑specific guidelines.
• Conduct investigations, produce written reports, and manage security equipment maintenance.
• Deliver security training, defuse disturbances, and perform risk assessments.
• Execute scheduled and random security checks, manage access‑control supplies, and maintain the Visitor Management System.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in security, law enforcement, military, or 1 year as a Security Specialist.
• Preferably 2 years of supervisory experience.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification.
• Valid driver’s license and all applicable state/federal/national security guard licenses.
• Strong written and oral communication skills for interaction with all management levels.
• Ability to work extended shifts and travel when required.
