Senior Structural Engineer (Full-time)

About the role

McDermott International is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead the Field Engineering team on the Mozambique LNG Project. The role combines technical leadership with hands‑on site engineering to ensure that all construction activities meet design, quality and schedule requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Support construction by delivering materials and drawings on schedule.
• Perform site design changes during construction, producing red‑line “as‑built” drawings.
• Provide technical support to QA/QC for non‑conformance issues and dispositions.
• Interpret construction drawings, specifications and related documents to guarantee compliance.
• Coordinate closely with the home‑office engineering team and JV partner to resolve complex engineering problems.
• Act as the lead engineer for the Field Engineering discipline, sharing expertise across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and process domains.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in field engineering for large‑scale LNG or offshore projects.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage site‑based engineering activities.
• Strong knowledge of engineering standards, specifications and company policies.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and capability to develop mitigation plans for complex issues.
