Team Leader – Solid Waste Management Project (Maputo)

About the role

CDM Smith is seeking a Team Leader to oversee the design‑build delivery of two major solid waste facilities in Maputo, Mozambique. The role acts as the Employer’s Representative, ensuring that the contractor’s work meets World Bank standards and project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the contractor’s design, construction, commissioning, and compliance monitoring for the KaTembe Sanitary Landfill and Hulene Transfer Station.
• Lead contract administration, including quality assurance, performance monitoring, and reporting to the client and funding agencies.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering, environmental, social, and safety supervision activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical training and knowledge transfer to the client’s engineering staff.
• Ensure compliance with Employer’s Requirements, World Bank safeguard instruments, and relevant regulations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in managing large‑scale infrastructure projects, preferably in waste management or related sectors.
• Proven ability to act as an Employer’s Representative on World Bank‑funded projects.
• Strong leadership skills to guide multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication and reporting capabilities.
