Technical Director – Marine Works (Africa)

About the role

The Technical Director – Marine Works leads the technical delivery of complex marine and near‑shore projects across Africa. Reporting to senior management, you will define strategy, ensure compliance and drive high‑quality execution from concept through commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the marine technical strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Provide expert guidance on marine engineering, constructability and execution methods.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, forecast resources and develop capability requirements.
• Ensure projects meet design standards, cost, quality and schedule targets.
• Oversee technical budgets, optimise solutions and manage risk.
• Support tendering with technical solutions, risk assessments and innovation initiatives.
• Validate construction sequences, lifting studies and marine fleet utilisation.
• Act as technical authority with clients, consultants, regulators and JV partners.

Required profile

• 15–20 years experience in construction and marine near‑shore structures.
• Proven experience on large‑scale marine and offshore infrastructure projects, including oil & gas.
• Strong knowledge of marine piling and jetties.
• Master’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• Fluency in English; French or Portuguese is an advantage.
• Willingness to work on a rotational basis.
