Camp Boss – Camp Operations Manager

About the role

The Camp Boss is responsible for the full operational, logistical, administrative and security management of a remote work camp. You will ensure smooth delivery of accommodation, catering, cleaning, maintenance and utilities while maintaining high HSE standards and quality of life for all camp residents.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily camp operations including accommodation, mess hall, laundry, waste, water and power supply.
• Supervise catering services, ensuring HACCP compliance and food safety.
• Coordinate cleaning, sanitisation and routine/extraordinary maintenance of facilities and utility systems.
• Enforce HSE procedures, conduct inspections and oversee security protocols and emergency plans.
• Lead and develop local support staff, handling grievances and fostering community relations.
• Control camp budget, inventory, procurement and monitor contractor performance.

Required profile

• High School Diploma.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Camp Boss in remote/isolated camps within Oil & Gas, Mining or Infrastructure sectors.
• Previous work experience in Sub‑Saharan Africa, preferably Mozambique.
• Fluent English (spoken and written) for reporting and corporate communication.

Required skills

• HACCP food safety knowledge.
• HSE certifications such as NEBOSH or OSHA.
• First Aid certification.
• Understanding of quality management systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience using ERP or inventory management software.
