Child Protection Coordinator – Maputo

About the role

The Child Protection Coordinator will lead Street Child’s child protection programme in Maputo, ensuring high‑quality interventions for vulnerable children. Reporting to the Country Director, the role combines technical oversight, case‑management strengthening and capacity‑building for partners and government counterparts.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the organisation’s child protection strategy and interventions in Maputo.
• Provide technical oversight to all child protection activities, ensuring compliance with national legislation, donor requirements and international standards such as the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action.
• Strengthen case‑management systems and supervise technical staff.
• Build the capacity of local partners and government agencies through training, mentorship and joint planning.
• Collaborate closely with country teams to integrate child protection with education and livelihood programmes.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on programme performance, ensuring data quality and learning.

Required profile

• National applicant with proven experience in child protection programming in Mozambique or similar contexts.
• Strong knowledge of national child protection legislation, donor compliance and humanitarian standards.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and manage partnerships.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills, with fluency in English and Portuguese.
