Communications & Visibility Internship

About the role

UN Women Mozambique is seeking a Communications and Visibility Intern to support its communications team. The intern will help create and disseminate visual and written content that highlights the organization’s work on gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Key responsibilities

• Design visual materials such as social media cards, banners, infographics and other branded products.
• Draft and adapt social media content, including captions, tweets and short posts.
• Assist with scheduling, uploading and aligning digital content with communication priorities.
• Provide event coverage through photography, videography, quote collection and rapid visual content creation.
• Support the development of briefs, success stories, human‑interest stories and newsletter inputs.
• Assist visibility and advocacy initiatives, preparing communication materials and offering basic logistical support for events.
• Organise media files, draft event summaries and maintain communication resources.

Required profile

• Academic or practical experience in public relations, communications, multimedia production or advocacy (e.g., university projects, volunteer work, internships, freelance assignments).
• Hands‑on experience using social media platforms for content creation, engagement or management.

Required skills

• Proficiency with social media platforms: Instagram, X/Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn.
• Graphic design and visual content creation.
• Basic photography and videography.
