About the role
International Media Support (IMS) is seeking an experienced consultant to lead the evaluation of its three‑year media development programme in Mozambique (2024‑2026). The assignment will assess both the original design and the relevance, effectiveness, and added value of recent adaptations made in response to post‑election challenges and Cyclone Chido.
Key responsibilities
- Review programme documentation, objectives, and outcomes.
- Design and implement a mixed‑methods evaluation framework, including data collection, stakeholder interviews, and field visits.
- Analyse quantitative and qualitative data to measure impact on journalist safety, gender‑inclusive content, and media resilience.
- Assess the effectiveness of adaptations introduced in February 2025.
- Produce a comprehensive evaluation report with actionable recommendations for IMS and its partners.
Required profile
- Proven experience in evaluating media development or similar development programmes.
- Familiarity with journalist safety, gender inclusion, and disinformation issues.
- Experience working in Mozambique or comparable contexts is preferred.
- Strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage timelines.
