Customs Compliance Officer (m/f)

About the role

The Customs Compliance Officer will ensure that all equipment imports comply with local customs regulations and company policies. You will act as the main liaison between the logistics team, customs authorities, and external clearing agents.

Key responsibilities

• Provide instructions to TEPMA1 on customs formalities for equipment entry.
• Trace and verify key transaction documents (BL, commercial invoice, etc.) and initiate clearance processes.
• Coordinate with clearing agents for shipments arriving at Nacala and manage shipping authorisations.
• Liaise with the logistics team to review cleared shipments and related payments.
• Monitor TEPMA1 import activities for compliance with legislation and company contracts.
• Produce weekly activity reports and maintain the customs filing system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Audit or related field and customs certification.
• Minimum 3 years experience in Oil & Gas and 6 years in customs operations.
• Experience supervising EPC, contractor and subcontractor customs activities.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese, with a valid driver’s licence and at least 5 years driving experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
• Knowledge of customs Single Window System (JUE) and customs formalities.
• Intermediate certification in C&P tools and Purchasing Technical Competencies.
