Deputy Security Manager – Unmanned Aerial System & Airspace

About the role

The Deputy Security Manager will lead airspace security for an oil & gas project in Afungi, Mozambique. Working on a rotational schedule, you will oversee both unmanned aerial system (UAS) and counter‑UAS (C‑UAS) operations to protect on‑shore and offshore assets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage project airspace security, including UAS and C‑UAS systems.
• Plan, supervise and report on security flight missions with aviation authorities and service providers.
• Maintain continuous Airspace Situational Awareness (ASA) and ensure compliance with SOPs, VPSHR and aviation regulations.
• Supervise drone and counter‑drone teams, enforce qualification standards, and oversee system installation and readiness.
• Coordinate C‑UAS technologies (radar, RF, jamming, interception) and manage flight authorisations, no‑fly zones and aerial corridors.
• Provide daily analysis of aerial activity, report incidents and support emergency response.

Required profile

• Proven experience in air operations, UAS or C‑UAS management (military, police, aviation or industrial security).
• Strong knowledge of drone and counter‑drone tactics, technologies and regulations (ICAO, local authority).
• Fluent English; Portuguese or Swahili an asset.
• Valid driver’s licence, passport and clean criminal record.
