About the role

Elite Educators is seeking dedicated home educators to provide personalized learning support to children and young learners in Maputo. This full‑time, on‑site position involves planning and delivering tailored educational activities directly in families’ homes.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement customized lesson plans and learning activities.
• Assist learners with homework, school projects, and reinforce core academic skills.
• Monitor and assess learner progress, adapting teaching methods as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of each tutoring session.
• Communicate regularly with parents or caregivers about achievements and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with colleagues or school staff when required.
• Adhere to safety, confidentiality, and professional standards while representing the organization in the community.

Required profile

• Strong instructional and tutoring abilities with clear explanation skills.
• Experience working directly with children or young learners, preferably in home‑based settings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with families.
• Good organizational and time‑management capabilities.
• Empathy, patience, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to an inclusive learning environment.
• Relevant educational background (e.g., pedagogy, education, psychology) is highly desirable.
• Fluency in Portuguese; additional English or local language skills are a plus.
• Ability to travel safely to learners’ homes in Maputo.
