Education Programme Development Manager – Mozambique (Pemba)

About the role

The Education Programme Development Manager will lead the design, development and implementation of NRC's education response in Mozambique, focusing on youth literacy and accelerated learning for out‑of‑school children. The role ensures alignment with regional and global strategies and close collaboration with the Education Cluster and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update the education strategy, technical SOPs, guidelines and macro‑LFAs.
• Prepare funding proposals, manage project budgets and produce donor reports in line with NRC policies.
• Provide technical leadership and oversee day‑to‑day project implementation, including activity planning, budgeting and documentation.
• Build capacity of country‑wide programme staff and transfer key skills.
• Liaise with local and national authorities, represent NRC in relevant forums and promote the rights of IDPs/returnees.
• Oversee monitoring and evaluation, data collection, analysis and reporting.
• Develop advocacy messages and contribute to country and area strategy development.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing education programmes in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong knowledge of literacy and accelerated learning approaches.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams, manage budgets and produce high‑quality donor reports.
• Excellent coordination skills with government bodies, NGOs and cluster partners.
• Experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning processes.
