Emergency Response Coordinator (M/F) – Oil & Gas

About the role

The Emergency Response Coordinator will lead the emergency preparedness and response activities for a major oil and gas operation in Mozambique. Reporting to senior managers, the role ensures compliance with company policies, local legislation, and best‑practice standards while fostering a strong safety culture across all contractors and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary emergency response coordinator during incidents, exercises, and drills.
• Develop, implement, and maintain TEPMA1 emergency response systems, documentation, and procedures.
• Review contractor documentation for compliance with TEPMA1 standards and provide feedback.
• Monitor the effectiveness of emergency response plans, identify improvement opportunities, and conduct post‑incident reviews.
• Prepare and deliver training, inductions, and competency records for emergency response personnel.
• Maintain emergency response duty rosters, equipment readiness, and ensure availability of critical information during emergencies.
• Facilitate audits, inspections, and investigations related to emergency response and firefighting activities.
• Support business continuity and incident management planning.

Required profile

• University degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, safety, environmental science).
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and ability to inspire the same in diverse teams.
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, Mozambique emergency response legislation, and TEPMA1 policies.
• Experience coordinating emergency response, drills, and firefighting operations in an industrial setting.
