Environmental Reporter – Maputo

About the role

The Cooperativa de Educação Ambiental Repensar is seeking a full‑time Reporter based in Maputo. You will focus on environmental education and community issues, producing clear, accurate and engaging news content for multiple platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Research, investigate and write news articles on environmental education topics and related community matters.
• Conduct interviews with sources, stakeholders and community members to gather diverse perspectives.
• Verify facts, maintain high ethical standards and ensure balanced reporting.
• Prepare reports and stories for print, web and social media channels, meeting tight editorial deadlines.
• Produce supporting multimedia content such as photographs, short videos or audio clips when required.
• Collaborate with editors and team members to shape story angles and improve overall content quality.

Required profile

• Proven experience in journalism, media or communications, preferably covering environmental or social topics.
• Strong research, interviewing and fact‑checking abilities.
• Excellent written communication with attention to clarity, accuracy and tone.
• Ability to work on‑site in Maputo, manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
• Commitment to non‑discriminatory reporting and respect for diverse communities.

Required skills

• Basic to intermediate multimedia handling – photography, video and audio.
