Finance Manager - Mozambique

About the role

The Finance Manager is responsible for the full finance function in Mozambique, covering financial transactions and administrative processes, management reporting, financial data analysis and donor reporting. The role supports the country team in allocating resources for programme activities and reports directly to the Project Lead.

Key responsibilities

• Lead in-country treasury processes, internal controls and donor financial and compliance requirements, and build country team capacity on policies, procurement and accounting software
• Support bank account setup, statutory registrations, audits and financial due diligence of partners and sub-recipients
• Manage monthly account closing, cash budgets, cash flow and project-level cash tracking
• Oversee procurement, fixed assets and inventory, and partner financial reporting and compliance
• Prepare annual and project budgets, monthly and quarterly financial reports, pipeline forecasts and proposal budgets

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or a similar field
• At least five years of post-study financial or accounting experience, including at least two years of management experience
• Experience presenting financial data to non-finance staff and developing budgets and forecasts
• Fluent English; desirable experience with institutional donor requirements (European funders, US Government UN partners, Global Fund)

• Strong accounting and financial management acumen
• ERP accounting systems and high proficiency in Excel
• Analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills
