Head of Finance

About the role

Alistair Group, a fast-growing logistics and services provider in East and Southern Africa with over 1,000 employees and more than 1,000 trucks, is hiring a Head of Finance for its country finance hub in Maputo, Mozambique. The role is full-time and manager/supervisor level, acting as the link between local operations, the Head of Integrated Projects, the Head of FP&A and the Group's Head of Finance.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement financial strategies aligned with Group objectives and evaluate financial performance by project and entity, proposing timely corrective measures.
• Prepare, monitor and manage budgets, forecasts and financial modelling.
• Oversee the Country Finance Hub in Mozambique to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.
• Ensure strict local tax compliance and adherence to regulatory standards.
• Manage key local stakeholder relationships, including banks, tax authorities, clients and suppliers.
• Lead and mentor the local finance team (Senior Accountant, AP/AR Lead, Procurement Manager and Warehouse Lead).

Required profile

• Degree in Finance.
• Proven track record of influencing behaviour and driving measurable improvements in safety and operational performance.
• Fluency in spoken and written Portuguese and English.

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of Mozambican tax, accounting laws and regulatory requirements.
• Extensive experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) and financial strategy.
• Ability to connect technical accounting with operational strategy and business objectives.
