Head of School

About the role

Enko Maputo is seeking a Head of School to lead instructional quality and cultural championing across the campus. Reporting to the Director of Schools' Performance, you will drive academic excellence, accreditation compliance, and community engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Drive academic excellence and student achievement across all age groups, implementing Enko learning and teaching standards.
• Lead international accreditation and re‑accreditation processes (IB, Cambridge/CAIE, Mozambican regulations) and analyse performance data for continuous improvement.
• Recruit, mentor, evaluate and retain high‑quality national and international teaching staff, fostering an inclusive professional learning community.
• Maintain high parent and student satisfaction through clear communication and engagement, building strong school spirit rooted in Mozambican culture.
• Collaborate with Finance, HR, and Marketing partners to align business priorities with academic quality and participate in network‑wide initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership or related field.
• Proven experience as Head of School, Deputy Head or Instructional Leader, preferably in IB or Cambridge schools.
• Deep understanding of international curricula and the Mozambican/regional educational landscape.
• Passionate about expanding high‑quality, affordable international education across Africa and embodies IB learner profile attributes.
• Entrepreneurial, resourceful, resilient with a hands‑on problem‑solving approach.

Required skills

• Strong collaborative capability with functional experts (HR, Finance, Marketing) and central teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and Portuguese.
• Data‑informed approach to measuring and enhancing learning outcomes.
