Head of Support Services – Mozambique

About the role

The Head of Support Services leads the Finance, HR, Logistics and Procurement functions for WeWorld’s Mozambique mission. Reporting to the Country Representative, the role ensures that all support services operate efficiently, comply with donor requirements and enable programme teams to deliver high-quality interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate Finance, HR and Logistics & Procurement departments, aligning them with country strategy and donor rules.
• Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, cash-flow management and audit follow-up for the mission.
• Supervise recruitment, performance management, staff development and compliance with labour law.
• Manage procurement processes, asset and fleet management, and supply-chain operations in line with WeWorld and donor guidelines.
• Develop and enforce standard operating procedures, internal controls and anti-fraud measures across support functions.
• Support safety and security implementation and ensure logistics systems contribute to staff protection.
• Represent WeWorld with partners, vendors, auditors and other external stakeholders on operational and compliance matters.

Required profile

• Degree in Economics, Political Science or related field.
• 5-10 years of experience managing finance, HR, logistics or procurement in donor-funded NGOs.
• Demonstrated experience with EU, ECHO, UN or AICS grant administration.
• Fluency in English and Portuguese; Italian is a plus.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and work in complex, multicultural environments.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Financial reporting, budgeting and cost-allocation expertise.
• Procurement and logistics management, including supply-chain and asset oversight.
