Information Management Officer – Temporary (NO-2)

About the role

The Information Management Officer (NO‑2) will support UNICEF Mozambique’s Planning/Monitoring/Information Management Hub by centralising and mapping data on vulnerable children, including those affected by emergencies. Working from the Maputo office, the officer will collaborate with programme sections, field offices and sector clusters to improve data‑driven decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, collect and centralise survey, routine and administrative data relevant to child vulnerability and humanitarian needs.
• Produce GIS maps and visualisations to support situation monitoring, preparedness and targeting of interventions.
• Assist programme sections, field offices and cluster coordinators in data collection, validation and reporting.
• Contribute to the development of a decentralized performance‑monitoring system by ensuring timely data flow to the central database.
• Collaborate with the Planning and Monitoring Specialist and other IM officers to maintain an integrated data management platform.

Required profile

• University degree in information management, geography, statistics, social sciences or a related field.
• Experience in data collection, management and GIS mapping, preferably in a development or humanitarian context.
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and adapt to fast‑changing environments.

Required skills

• GIS (Geographic Information Systems) for mapping and spatial analysis.
