Language Specialist Annotator

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Language Specialist to join our team and support the development of advanced AI and Natural Language Processing (NLP) systems. In this remote, full‑time position you will apply your linguistic expertise to annotate, review, and validate language data, ensuring it is accurate, consistent, and culturally relevant.

Key responsibilities

• Annotate and review text, speech, or conversational datasets, labeling parts of speech, sentiment, intent, syntax, and other project‑specific attributes.
• Ensure cultural and contextual appropriateness of all annotated data.
• Develop, refine, and maintain detailed annotation guidelines.
• Conduct quality‑assurance checks and measure inter‑annotator agreement.
• Provide feedback to improve annotation workflows and standards.
• Support multilingual or domain‑specific annotation projects when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Languages, or a related field.
• Native or near‑native proficiency in the target language(s).
• Strong understanding of grammar, syntax, and overall language structure.
• Proven experience in linguistic annotation or data‑labeling projects.
• Familiarity with NLP concepts and AI development workflows.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Multilingual capabilities are a plus.
