Mission Home Custodian

About the role

This role supports the mission’s residential facilities by providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for missionaries, leaders, and visitors. The custodian ensures that the home reflects the spiritual values of the Church while meeting practical standards of hygiene and order.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine custodial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing floors using buffers and carpet cleaners.
• Maintain bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas, including making beds, laundering linens, and restocking supplies.
• Set up and arrange meeting rooms, replace draperies, chandeliers, and lighting as needed.
• Handle cleaning chemicals safely with appropriate protective equipment.
• Report maintenance issues to the facilities manager and assist with minor repairs.
• Support mission leaders with general housekeeping and ensure compliance with safety and security procedures.

Required profile

• Current valid temple recommend or equivalent eligibility.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb, climb steps, and work with cleaning equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Reliability to work unsupervised and follow direction from mission leaders.

Required skills

• Operation of buffers, carpet cleaners, and vacuum cleaners.
• Handling of cleaning agents and chemicals with safety gear.
• Basic computer skills for reporting and task tracking.
• Cleaning at heights and use of motorized equipment.
